New paper from Professor Dana McCoy highlights importance of FOLD skills in early childhood
A new article led by SEED Lab Director Dana McCoy and Northwestern Professor Terri Sabol uses findings from more than 300 studies published over the past 50 years to highlight the importance of children's FOLD skills. FOLD skills -- the "Foundations of Learning Development" -- include competencies such as curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking, and are believed to be critical but under-emphasized targets of early childhood interventions. The study was published in American Psychologist, and also featured in HGSE's Usable Knowledge.
