New paper from Doctoral Student Kristen Hinckley explores how caregivers in rural Peru support early learning and responsive caregiving

A new study led by Kristen Hinckley, Doctoral Student and member of the SEED lab, explores how caregivers in a rural Andean region of Peru, understand and practice responsive caregiving and early learning—two core components of the Nurturing Care Framework. Through qualitative interviews and a focus group with caregivers of young children, the study highlights both alignment with global frameworks and important culturally specific caregiving beliefs. Findings offer practical guidance for designing more contextually relevant parenting programs. The article was published in Infant and Child Development
