Recent SEED Lab graduate Jorge Cuartas appointed Assistant Professor at NYU

Dr. Jorge Cuartas, a 2024 graduate of HGSE and the SEED Lab, will be joining the Department of Applied Psychology at New York University as an Assistant Professor, starting September 1st. He will direct the Catalyzing Action for Resilient Ecologies (CARE) lab and will continue his research on the prevention of violence against children, early childhood development, climate change, and policy.

In addition, Jorge’s dissertation, "Violence against Children in Low- and- Middle- Income Countries: Developmental Consequences and Prevention" (advised by Prof. McCoy), received the American Psychological Association Dissertation Award In Developmental Psychology.
