Jorge Cuartas is a doctoral student in Human Development, Learning, and Teaching. Jorge’s research focuses in the analysis of human development and parenting in contexts of adversity, especially in relation to exposure to community violence and civil conflict in low- and middle-income countries. He is also interested in the effects of corporal punishment, and in the design and evaluation of interventions aimed at fostering healthy developmental trajectories in international contexts. Prior to entering graduate school, he worked as research assistant at Universidad de los Andes. He received a B.A in Economics from Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano and a M.A. in Economics from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia).
 
In the SEED lab Jorge works on the CREDI project, and in research on the developmental effects of exposure to community violent crime.
