Dr. Kathryn Gonzalez is currently working as a Researcher at Mathematica Policy Research. She is graduate of HGSE's Education Policy and Program Evaluation PhD program, and a former research assistant in the SEED lab. Her research focuses on early childhood education policy and program evaluation. Her doctoral research explored how instructional practices and classroom quality affect early child development, and how large-scale systems can support access and quality improvement in the context of rapidly expanding state and local early childhood education systems. Prior to entering graduate school, she worked as a research assistant/programmer at Mathematica Policy Research. She received a B.A. in Economics from Swarthmore College and a Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

In the SEED lab, Katie worked on the NCRECE project to understand impact variation in teacher professional development, as well as the Chicago School Readiness Project.  She is now a full-time Researcher at Mathematica Policy Research.
