Dr. Emily Hanno currently work as a Research Associate at MDRC. She is a former doctoral student in the SEED Lab and graduate of the Education Policy and Program Evaluation PhD program at HGSE. Her research interests sit at the intersection of quantitative policy analysis and human development. Specifically, she is interested in understanding the role classroom environments and the adults who lead them can play in promoting healthy child development. Prior to beginning doctoral studies, Emily served as a Head Start teacher and instructional coach across several school districts in Houston, Texas. She received her B.A. in Economics and International Relations from Tufts and a Ed.M. in Human Development and Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

In the SEED lab, Emily worked on the NCRECE project to understand impact variation in teacher professional development, as well as the evaluation of Programa Compasso.  She also served as post-doctoral fellow working with Stephanie Jones on the ELS@H project at HGSE.
