Kristen Hinckley is a Master’s student in International Education Policy at HGSE and doctoral student at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute. As a part of the SEED Lab, Kristen works as a research assistant on a project examining the effects of a virtual tutor for parents, Afinidata, on family wellbeing and early childhood development in Peru.  She has also researched the effects of violence and early childhood care and education on young children in LMICs. She is particularly interested in early childhood development, scaling up effective interventions, teacher professional development, and M&E. Prior to HGSE, she worked in the education sector in Peru as a kindergarten teacher and as an education policy researcher supporting the implementation of a national early childhood education study. She earned her BA in International Development and Spanish from Dartmouth College in 2017.
